Gaymers Festival 2010
Fishing Information call 01726 862519
It is time for our annual Gaymers festival, this festival is aimed at club anglers and this year we have 72 fishing that will be taking to the banks of Twin Oaks, Acorn & Canal for the 4-day festival.
This is a very social festival as most of the anglers that fish it come down in large groups or have been coming since the start of the festival, so after a weekend of enjoying the sunshine, catching up with old friends and testing the beer they were all in high sprits for the first morning of the festival.
Day One

This year we changed the format slightly by making it a complete random draw on day one with all the pegs for all the lakes going in to the draw bag so not only were the anglers drawing their peg for the first match, their draw would determine their weeks fishing rotation.
A Section Twin Oaks 1 - 18

With a perfect 4 section wins result Corrie Wagstaff takes this year's festival win and the title of White Acres Gaymers champion 2010. Although Corrie has been up there from day one he scraped the section win on a couple of times buy ounces. The battle for the remaining places in the top ten have been close all week and we have seen some great weights recorded by the anglers.

I hope all the anglers will agree with us when we say how much we have enjoyed the festival and had a great week, with so many of the anglers coming down in their club groups and with them forming friendships over the previous festivals it has been a good atmosphere all week with the anglers exchanging banter both on and off the banks.
Once again thank you to all the anglers that took part in this year's festival and congratulations to all especially our top three Corrie, Barry & Ian.
For all those anglers reading this that fished the festival don't forget we are after your blogs and stories from throughout the week so if you could email them to me it would be much appreciated - don't forget there is a prize on offer for the best one we receive back.
See you all for the 2011 Gaymers festival.
Cheers, Kirsty
