With so many varied lakes to choose from White Acres offers a host of ways to enjoy the sport. News-Reel takes a walk round the lakes and catches up with a few guests… Firstly we went to Jenny’s Lake which has really come into it’s own this year producing ton-up bags and bite a chuck action from both large and smaller fish to keep all standards of anglers happy.
We found Lee Cochran from Caerphilly, South Wales enjoying a fishing session with his dad (See Bottom) and they revealed that maggot was working for them. “We’ve been staying at White Acres for the last two weeks and we are having a great holiday,” said Lee.
Meanwhile Damien Toal was enjoying his first White Acres vacation and was steadily catching tench on strawberry meat, corn or paste on Jenny’s. Proof that the resident fish are not too fussy about what they’ll eat!
“I’m really impressed with the park and the location of Jenny’s is ideal near the lodges plus the depth is comfortable to fish” said Damien.
Moving onto Eery Adam Palmer aged 20, a keen carp angler, was enjoying his favourite lake. Adam has been coming to White Acres for the last seven years and likes Eery because he says it is well stocked and picturesque. “The average carp I catch in Eery are between 9 – 10 lb and I have a lot of success on luncheon meat,” said Adam whose favourite swim is peg 14.
Up on Sycamore Michael Fairlile and Luke Tidbury, both aged 13, from Manchester and Warrington respectively, were catching plenty of roach. The lads admitted their favourite lake is Jenny’s because they managed to catch an 8 lb ghost carp earlier in the week. “We always catch fish on Jenny’s,” said Michael while Luke added: “we find boilies, maggots, pellets and paste all work there”.
Of course Pat’s Pool is a favourite with those anglers looking to catch a big carp or even one of our ever growing catfish. The cat’s really are starting to pack on some weight now and have been showing on a regular basis. Two recent guests had a great time after the moggies, Jason Deverille matted a fine 43 lb 10 oz cat from Pat’s while Tom Compton wasn’t far behind with another at 43 lb 4 oz both anglers using popped up bottom baits. Our cats will take boilies you know!
