Welcome to the White Acres Guru festival 2016. We are really excited that new to 2016 we have the dynamic tackle company Guru as our new festival sponsor.
On top of our usual pay-out for top 3 Guru have very generously added an extra £1000 to the overall winner, a further £750 to second place and an extra £500 to whomever finishes third, as if that’s not enough there are £2000 worth of prizes for the top 10 and each angler has received a goody box worth £10!
We have an almost full house of 180 anglers fishing but with some last minute cancellations we are just a few anglers short. They’ll be fishing over 5 days in 9 peg sections rotating daily between lakes Pollawyn, Twin Oaks/Trelawney Jennys/Trewaters, Porth and Bolingey.
Read on for the first day’s action…

It’s been a great week’s fishing for our first ever Guru Festival here at White Acres.
Congratulations to John Whincup for winning this week, with an overall weight of 323lb 12oz John won his section every day except Thursday on Trelawney where he took second in the section with 8 points, well done John who now goes home £4,000 richer!
And well done to Alan Scotthorne for taking second place on the festival and Paul Holland for finishing third.
I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Guru for sponsoring this event and for the amazing money and prizes that they have contributed towards the festival.
Next year we have the Guru and the Milo festival running back to back from the week commencing Saturday 29 th April, so if you want to fish one or both of these then get booking up now!
