  Keenets Festival

Welcome to the start of the third spring festival here at White Acres.

Keenets have sponsored this festival for a number of years and we are pleased to welcome them back and thank them for their sponsorship. This week we have 170 anglers taking to the lakes both on site and off site to fish for big money and to take the title of Keenets champion 2005.

This week sees a slight alteration to the format with Gwinear Lake being out but in its place more on site lakes will be used. After such a good week on the Van Den Eyned festival, Python makes a return as well as Nelsons and Acorn. Hopefully the weather will be a bit more settled this week the forecast seems quite promising!

Again its great to see so many new faces as well as familiar faces back here at White Acres to fish the festival, as well as those that have been here for the duration and are beginning to show the signs of to much après-fishing!!

Watch this space for coverage of this years Keenets festival, we hope it is going to be another tremendous success.

So all in all it has been a great start to the Keenets festival, the fishing on day one has been great and we have high hopes for the rest of the week, watch this space for the update on the festival and lets see how the leader board changes over the next 4 days...

Day Two

Well when it rains in Cornwall it certainly knows how to rain, with over 2cm in less than half an hour recorded by the lakes! These downpours came as a shock to most of us as it was warm and sunny earlier in the day and some angles had neglected the fact the weather can change so quickly and were only fishing in trainers and no coats! I think a few lessons were learnt yesterday and everyone will be going into day 3 taking note of the Boy Scout rule “Always be Prepared”. Despite the rain the fishing was still good with top weights being seen on all the lakes.

Pollawyn

Despite the anglers being battered by the wind and rain on the lake there were still some great catches. First on the lake goes to Karl Webster, Karl caught on the waggler and pellet from peg 19 to weigh in with 141lb 15oz. Nigel Marchington takes second with 87lb 3oz, Nigel caught mostly carp for a total weight of 87lb 3oz.
