White Acres Match Results March 2006
  Thursday Residents Rover
23th October 2006

42 Anglers braved the Cornish weather to fish the first Thursday Rover match of the season. All the lakes are used for the rover and those chosen this Thursday were Pollawyn (top weight 98lb 2oz), Sycamore (top weight 54lb 7oz), Trelawney (top weight 57lb 6oz), Jennys (top weight 70lb 6oz), Eery (top weight 77lb 6oz) and Python. It was a cold drizzly day, the anglers gathered in the fishing lodge to make the draw hoping to draw low to get first choice on the top pegs.

Wednesdays Silver winners Mark Spacey took his second victory the week winning this weeks rover with 98lb 2oz. Mark was one of the last to draw and was in luck as peg 19 on the point of Pollawyn was free, he fished this peg with meat on the bomb to take the match win.

Nigel Hurst picked up second with 85lb 8oz, Nigel chose peg 25 on the high bank of Pollawyn and used the meat on the straight lead approach netting him a fine bag of fish.

Third on the day was Mike Burntsen also on the high bank of Pollawyn, Mike had a total weight of 79lb 14oz from peg 22 he caught 12 fish on the straight lead with corn and about 40lb on the pole feeding soft pellet.

  Monday Resident Gold
20th March 2006

The first 2006 Monday Gold match of the year was fished on Twin Oaks, 19 anglers braved the cold and damp weather to fish in the match. There was a strong easterly wind blowing but fortunately the rain held off and it got brighter as the day went on.

John Pantry (Clint) took the very first win of the season with 92lb 13oz. Much to the dis-belief of his fellow anglers John had an amazing drew pulling peg 15 out of the bag; the peg he had practised on the day before! (Some people have all the luck) he fished the groundbait feeder to the far bank with maggot on the hook.

N ick Collier (Sarfix SW) took second with 79lb 15oz; Nick fished corn at 6 meters and down the edge from peg 18.

Third went to Stu Dabbs (Sensas Borden) on peg 2, Stu caught in the margins on corn for a weight of 78lb 5oz.
