The
all-conquering NFA Ladies Team England, have a new sponsor and
a new name as they prepare to defend their title at the 10th World
Angling Championships being hosted by England at Milton Keynes,
Buckinghamshire on August 23/24 next year.
The fabulous five-star White Acres Holiday Park in Cornwall, has
stepped in to sponsor the current world champions; which boasts
individual world champion, Sandra Scotthorne, in their ranks. The
substantial five-figure sponsorship arrangement follows just one
week after the NFA were awarded £15,000 from Sport England
to enable the Ladies World Championships to take place in England.
The NFA is excited with its latest sponsor; "Every angler has heard of the
paradise in Cornwall called 'White Acres' and I believe this is a sponsorship
that fits well with our medal winning team" said NFA President Ken Ball
adding: "The new "White Acres Womens Team England" title has a
successful 'feel' about it and I am delighted the deal has been struck so soon
after we announced the World Championships are definitely on in this country;
everyone will be a winner with this lucrative sponsorship."
The stunning 140-acre White Acres Holiday Park has been a fishing park since
1984 but the new owners have made sweeping changes since November 1998 with 181
(double-glazed and centrally heated) holiday homes; 42 Scandinavian Lodges have
been a smash hit with anglers at White Acres which is located six miles from
Newquay.
The NFA's Director of International
Events, Dick Clegg, commented "White Acres offers 15 quality
lakes and is a text book fishery and quality holiday complex. "We
have the top team and White Acres have the top angling holiday complex
this
has to be a winning combination."
White Acres managing director, John Tham, said: "We have spent
a substantial amount of money developing White Acres into a unique
fishery and holiday
complex and we haven't finished spending yet! We heard that the NFA's gold
medal Ladies Team were without a sponsor and this partnership has given us
the opportunity to put something back into the sport."
World Champion and England Ladies team member, Sandra Scotthorne, enthused: "The
new sponsorship deal is great news for the team. To have the sponsorship in
place so early is brilliant for the sponsor and morale boosting for the team.
It is one less thing to worry about as we plan to retain our title at Milton
Keynes.
NFA Membership Services Manager, Bob Clark, commented: "This sponsorship
is a window of opportunity for the NFA and the White Acres Holiday Park will
be a superb point of sale for the governing body. We always try and actively
promote our sponsors and we have another fine example of one of the top angling
holiday operators in Europe, wanting to put something back into the sport
through the governing body. This is an exciting partnership which has enormous
potential for creating huge benefits for angling."
