WHITE
ACRES’ FESTIVAL RULES
By entering the festival at White
acres you agree to abide by these rules. If you are found to have broken any of
these rules we have the right to require you to forfeit the match and the
festival and take no further part. Any entry fees will not be returned to you.
We reserve the right to amend/add
to these rules at any time without prior notice.
These rules are in place to
ensure the smooth running of the festival and to make the festival an enjoyable
experience for all those taking part or spectating.
If you are in any doubt about any of the rules or have any questions please ask
a member of our fisheries team who are always happy to help.
GENERAL
RULES
1.
All anglers must
be in possession or a current Environment Agency rod licence.
2.
KEEPNETS
ARE NOT TO GO INTO THE WATER UNTIL 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF EACH MATCH; Nets must be strung out each evening and before the
start of the match. Two keepnets to be used, no rocks
or stones in your keepnets. Three keepnets are now compulsory on Bolingey & Pollawyn. We
do not enforce a weight limit but ask you to split your fish equally and even
use your silver net if necessary
3.
The method,
floating method, candle or feeder floats or any adaptation of these methods is
banned. A minimum hook length of 12
inches must hang below your feeder and bomb when you cast out. All feeders
& bombs must be free running, but you can put a sliding float stop 12” from
your feeder NO PATERNOSTERS.
4.
No buoyant topped
wagglers/splashers or any adaptation of these
methods. The maximum width of a waggler is 3/8 of an
inch. NO UNDER SHOTTING.
5.
No floating the
pole, the rattler, cupping water or taping the water. When fishing the pole you
must use a pole rig with a correctly shotted float.
The tip of your float must be a minimum of 8 inches from your
connector or elastic. (NO OVER SHOTTING). There is NO pole limit (except
at Trewaters where there is a 13 meter limit)
6.
No using a second
pole to feed whilst fishing.
7.
No pole cups must
pass over the water before the start of the match.
8.
Barbless hooks only maximum size 12
9.
No fishing
outside your section. The limit of your section is the platform either side of
you not in front of it. If the peg beside you is taken you may fish half way
between the other angler and yourself.
10.
All
anglers must weigh in every day. An angler failing to go to his peg and fish
for five hours without good reason may, at the discretion of the fisheries
team, be disqualified from the festival and may not be invited back.
3.
No surface baits
(i.e. floating on the surface). No artificial baits.
4.
Your bait
allowance will be 8 pints made up of
Cornish bagging pellets (this can include up to1 pint but no more of your own
hook pellets), combined maggots & casters, pinkie, squatt,
meat, corn, & hemp.
5.
You cannot have
more than 4 pints of any one of the above baits (and your own hook pellets will
be included within your allowance for Cornish bagging pellets). All baits must
be prepared and ready to use.
6.
In addition to
the baits set out above you are entitled to have the following additional bait:
a.
up to 1 kilo of
worms
b.
up to 2 kilos of groundbait; and
c.
up to ½ a loaf of
bread.
7.
No balling in (i.e. jaffa sized balls).
You can catapult or throw small walnut sized balls.
If
you are fishing at Porth the rules set out above apply except as varied by
rules 8 to 12 below.
8.
Maximum of 5 kilo
of groundbait.
9.
You may catapult or throw groundbait on your
pole, waggler or feeder line.
10.
Micro barbed hooks can be used.
11.
No Trout or Pike in your keepnet.
These should be returned. They do not count in the match.
12.
Fixed feeders
& a hook length of your choice can be used.
ALL OF THE ABOVE
BAIT ALLOWENCES REFER TO THE AMOUNT OF BAIT THAT IS ALLOWED AT THE LAKE/PEG.
At the
discretion of the fisheries team anyone found abusing the rules re bait may be
asked to forfeit the match and take no further part in the festival or may be
permitted to fish on and weigh in but their individual points will not count
for that day.
Anyone who has
broken the rules about bait in any previous match or festival held at White Acres
and breaks the rules on a further occasion will not be eligible to pick up
overall festival money and will not be allowed to fish the Parkdean Masters one
day £25,000 final.
We expect all competitors in
matches to behave appropriately during matches and in particular to respect
other competitors and not to engage in behaviour that is offensive, disruptive
or likely to cause harm to other competitors, visitors and spectators or staff
at White Acres or cause harm to property. If the fisheries team or any other
member of the staff at White Acres feels your behaviour is offensive,
disruptive, illegal or likely to cause harm as set out above you will be
required to forfeit the match and not take any further part in the festival and
your entry fees will not be refunded.
In the event of a
dispute concerning these rules or conduct during the festival the decision of
the fisheries team is final.
Trewaters farm is situated on the A39 Carland
Cross to Truro road, directions from White Acres out park exit turn right to
crossroad. Turn left onto the A392 follow the road to the roundabout, take the
3rd exit, A39 duel carriageway continue to the next roundabout where
you need to take the 4th exit onto the A30 south towards Redruth, continue on the A30 until you reach the Carland Cross roundabout, (Wind farm on the Right) take the
2nd exit on to the A39 towards Truro, follow the road down the hill
for about 1 mile and take the 1st farm track on the left, at the
bottom of the hill, follow the track round the bend for 50 yards then take the
gateway on your right, this will be open, follow the track down past the stock
pond on your left arriving at the two lakes on the right.
Both lakes have 18 pegs on
them, the lake on the right being pegs 1-18 and the lower lake being 19-36. The
lakes are 19 meters wide with a 45 degree slope on either side. Both lakes have
a margin from 1-3 foot and are a maximum of 6 foot deep down the middle. They
are stocked with Carp to 4lb, F1’s to 4lb, Tench, and
Skimmers. There are plenty of small fish to keep the bites coming, the
estimated winning weight could be 60 to 70lb but expect an average weight of
20lb
Special rules for Trewaters
13 meter pole limit
All fish less than 1lb in the
silver fish net and all carp over 1lb in the big fish net.
All fish to be netted, don’t swing any fish
