Well if you’re anything like us you blinked and June was over and done with! Where is the time going?

June is one of our busiest months for groups of anglers and as well as them we have also had two festivals so we definitely have been kept on our toes.

The first of the June festivals was the Preston Innovations Parkdean pairs festival and for the second year running James Hawkins & Adam Wakelin took the title, the festival gained increased interest this year with more pairs fishing, next year we will once again be expanding the festival and to gear up for more numbers we will be using all four lakes on all four days so the pairs will not be on the same lakes at the same time, we are hoping that this is going to improve the fishing and encourages more people to book on – if you are interested get in contact with Kirsty as there are a number of new entries already.

Winners James Hawkins & Adam Wakelin on 47 points with a weight of 373lb 2oz

Our other June festival was The Gaymers festival which is aimed at club level anglers and is always a sell out, it was a great week and apart from one day the anglers had the bonus of glorious weather. The winner this year was Corrie Wagstaff but taking the win is a bit like a double edged sword as Corrie is now unable to fish the festival next year so the field is once again opened up for a new winner in 2011.

Between the festivals we have been busy with the normal weekly matches and the numbers entering the Rover crept up towards 200 fishing it, combined also with the amount of anglers pleasure fishing you can imagine how busy the lakes have been.

July is a bit quieter for us so we will be able to get out on the lakes a bit more to get some catch information to keep the daily pages on the website updated. Our annual ladies festival starts this week with the female anglers fishing on Python & Twin Oaks for the four days so watch out for the results coming shortly.

We have more exciting news on National fishing month at White Acres as we have four companies confirmed to be here over the 4 weeks. Week commencing 17th July will be Garbolino week, 24th July Preston Innovations week, 31st July Maver week and 7th August Guru week. There are lots of special events being held throughout the month including tuition, demonstrations and live Q & A sessions in the evening. This is a great opportunity for all the family to get involved and get some expert tips and advice from the professionals. The full details will be published soon so watch this space.

The availability for July & August is rapidly filling up so if you have not yet booked your summer holiday now is a great opportunity; especially if you tie it win with one of the National Fishing weeks. Hopefully we will be seeing many more of you shortly.
