Our top four reasons to take your kids fishing this National Fishing Month!
For the sixth year in a row White Acres Holiday Park (our angling paradise with 13 coarse fishing lakes) will be supporting National Fishing Month (25 July – 22 August), with the aim of encouraging people of all ages, genders and abilities to grab a rod and reel, get outside and go fishing!
Taking place during the School Summer Holidays means that this is the ideal time to get the kids involved. Here are four more reasons to get your children involved in fishing:
- Get them into the great outdoors – unplug the games console and step away from the smart phone. It’s no secret that kids these days love technology but it’s important to get the right mix of indoor and outdoor activity. What better way than fishing to teach your children that you can have fun without staring at a screen.
- Quality family time – it’s a great way for parents and children to relax together away from the stresses of everyday hectic lives. Fishing is a fantastic way to bring the whole family together to create lasting memories.
- Teaching life skills – fishing teaches children patience as well as developing balance and co-ordination skills. Reports have also suggested that fishing aids in concentration and focus.
- Appreciation of nature – a few hours around a beautiful sun-soaked lake is guaranteed to make you appreciate the world around us and encourage respect for the environment.
Sound like fun? Grab your rods and reels and get involved this National Fishing Month! You’ll enjoy all the facilities on park at White Acres, plus learn from some of the best anglers in the country.
