This event is brand new to 2016 and we are very excited to see how it all goes. We have 64 anglers over the age of 55 fishing over 4 days in 8 peg sections rotating between Pollawyn, Python, Jennys and Trelawney.
The weather has been kind with crisp sunny days but some frost at night keeping everybody’s spirits up. Read on for the first day’s action…
Day One
Today’s winner on Pollawyn was local angler Stewart Lister on fancied peg 19 with 45lb 10oz; Stewart fished 12 meters shallow with meat catching a mixed bag. In form David Gibbs managed second place with 40lb 12oz from peg 26 on the high bank, David swapped between the 5 meter pole and margins with casters. Finishing third on peg 30 with a weight of 38lb 8oz was Terry Harrison and Gary Bell took fourth place on peg 27 weighing in at 31lb 6oz.

John Macklin managed second place with 43lb 06oz from peg 34, John fished the bomb and bread. Finishing third on peg 22 with a weight of 40lb 01oz was Roy Booth and Malcolm Johnson took fourth place on peg 27 weighing in at 36lb 08oz.

Andy Partridge managed second place with 47lb 10oz from peg next peg 18, Andy also fished the short pole with caster, and he never had meat! Finishing third on peg 24 with a weight of 46lb 10oz was Jimmy Wilson, Jimmy also caught with caster on the short pole and in form Bob Conway took fourth place on peg 27 weighing in at 39lb 12oz.

Joe Roberts on peg 14 finished in second place weighing in at 23lb 5oz. Finishing third on peg 13 with a weight of 19lb 13oz was Ken Blower. Gary Bell took fourth place on peg 36 weighing in at 16lb 1oz.
