This week we are holding our Summer Veterans festival specifically for the over 55’s. We have a full house with 40 anglers fishing over Twin Oaks, Acorn and Canal on 5 peg sections rotating over 4 days.

‘A’ section, Twin Oaks 1-18

Simon Gould was the lake winner today with 157lb 2oz, Simon fished method feeder with pellet and the occasional fish on the bomb from peg 13. Andy Partridge on peg 14 finished in second place weighing in at 135lb 4oz. Finishing third on peg 5 with a weight of 92lb 8oz was Andy Read. Dick Clegg took fourth place on peg 17 weighing in at 89lb 8oz.

‘B’ Section, Twin Oaks 19-36

In first place on peg 33 was today’s winner for B section Andy Dare with 125lb 4oz. Andy fished feeder with meat. Mick Wilkinson took second place on peg 27 with 59lb fishing feeder. Finishing in third place was Bill Galt on peg 31 with 57lb 2oz. With a weight of 55lb 4oz Pete Byrne finished in fourth place from peg 24.

‘C’ Section, Acorn

With 167lb 12oz Steve Prowse secured himself first place fishing pellet feeder with 6mm pellets. Tony Oatley finished in second place with a weight of 111lb 10oz from peg 18. Tony fished worm over ground bait down the edge. Joe Roberts finished in third place on peg 1 with a weight of 77lb. Harry Billing had 73lb 1oz off peg 11 giving him fourth place.

‘D’ Section, Canal

Fishing pellet feeder with dead maggots and catching mainly F1’s was Robin Payne with 66lb 5oz on peg 19. Taking second place on peg 17 with a weight of 48lb 10oz was Tony Troth fishing down the edge at 6 metres with pellet. Finishing third was Gary Bell fishing long with feeder down the edge from peg 5 and weighing 44lb 15oz. On peg 13 Tony Cocks finished in fourth place with a weight of 43lb 7oz fishing short with corn.

Day Two

‘A’ section, Twin Oaks 19-36

Mal Proctor was the lake winner today with 108lb 2oz fishing from peg 24. Andy Partridge on peg 28 finished in second place fishing top kit bagging himself Carp and F1’s and weighing in at 93lb 6oz. Finishing third on peg 21 with 75lb 12oz was Martin Austin. Trevor Faulkner took fourth place on peg 34 weighing in at 74lb 8oz.

‘B’ Section, Acorn

In first place on peg 13 was Pete Byrne with 116lb 10oz. Pete fished bomb with an 8mm pellet on the hook. Andy Dare took second place on peg 5 with 99lb 10oz fishing at 4 metres with paste over pellet. Fishing in the margins with pellet was Mike O’Gorman on peg 16 with 60lb 12oz. With a weight of 52lb 2oz John Pantry finished in fourth place from peg 9.

Catching mainly Carp and F1’s with pellet feeder Steve Prowse secured himself first place with 90lb 4oz from peg 13. Malcolm Johnson finished in second place with a weight of 70lb 15oz from peg 17. Malcolm fished pellet feeder. Tony Oatley finished in third place on peg 15 with a weight of 68lb 14oz fishing paste. Harry Billing had 66lb 4oz from peg 5 giving him fourth place fishing paste at 5 metres.

On peg 11 Tony Holdsworth finished in fourth place with 101lb 12oz fishing paste down the edge and pellet feeder.

‘A’ section, Acorn

Trevor Faulkner was the lake winner today on Acorn with 66lb fishing top 3 kit with 6mm banded pellet from peg 15. Mal Proctor on peg 5 finished in second place fishing short pole with pellet and weighing 62lb 8oz. Finishing third on peg 3 with 54lb 9oz was Simon Gould. Andy Partridge took fourth place on peg 7 weighing in at 54lb.

In first place on peg 17 was Mick Wilkinson with 40lb 6oz. Mick fished tight to the far bank with pellet feeder. Bill Galt took second place on peg 13 with 36lb 4oz fishing pellet feeder. Fishing pellet feeder at 6 metres was John Pantry on peg 11 with 32lb 10oz. With a weight of 27lb 12oz Tony Burt finished in fourth place from peg 19.

Finishing third was Pete Upton fishing feeder with 6mm pellet from peg 31 and weighing 95lb 12oz. On peg 30 Steve Warner finished in fourth place with 76lb 12oz.

‘A’ section, Canal

Simon Gould was the lake winner today with 47lb 2oz fishing feeder down the edge catching F1’s and 2 bonus Carp from peg 13. Mal Proctor on peg 15 finished in second place with 42lb 12oz. Finishing third on peg 17 with 33lb was Neil Edwards. Jim Heasmen took fourth place on peg 19 weighing in at 32lb 8oz.

A massive congratulations to our very own Steve Prowse who won this year Summer Veterans festival, winning his section every day he finished with an overall weight of 462lb 6oz. And finishing a close second was Andy Dare who also won his section every day and had 422lb in total. In third place was Harry Billing with an overall 414lb 11oz, well done guys.

Places are already filling up fast for next year’s Summer Veterans festival and is sure to be another sell out.
