Welcome to the Winter Veterans festival 2017. We have 95 anglers over the age of 55 fishing over 4 days in 6 peg sections rotating between Twin Oaks, Trelawney, Jennys, Pollawyn, Sycamore and Python. The weather has been a cold with lots of sunshine on the first day. Great start!!!

Day One
Twin Oaks
Today’s winner on Twin Oaks was Harry Billing peg 14 with 94lb 13oz; Harry fished the method feeder and meat in the margins. Ivan Lord managed second place with 69lb 6oz from peg 28, Ivan. Finishing third on peg 17 with a weight of 67lb 12oz was Robert Ellis and John Haley took fourth place on peg 15 weighing in at 60lb.

Andy Dare took first place today on Sycamore with a weight of 87lb 1oz from peg, Andy fished the long pole with pellet. Second place on the day was Graham Stokes on Python from peg 10 with 70lb 10oz; Graham caught pellet shallow on the long pole. Third place went to David Cleaver from peg 16, David caught in the margins with maggots and forth place went to John Stewart Lister from peg 13 with 31lb 8oz.

Today’s winner on Trelawney was Steve Warner peg 10 with 48lb 3oz, Steve fished the pole at 6M with worm and caster. Robert Ellis managed second place with 43lb 7oz from peg 27, Robert fished long pole with pellet. Finishing third on peg 23 with a weight of 41lb 11oz was Harry Billing and Tony Holdsworth took fourth place on peg 7 weighing in at 36lb 8oz.

Geoff Vallance fishing on Pollawyn managed second place with 31lb 3oz from peg 20, Geoff fished long pole with maggot and also used the method feeder. Finishing third on peg 8 Jennys with a weight of 27lb 2oz was Ken Russell and Harry Billing on Pollawyn took fourth place on peg 26 weighing in at 22lb 10oz.

Finishing third on peg 9 Python with a weight of 28lb was Geoff Harris and Ken Russell on Sycamore took fourth place on peg 13 weighing in at 27lb 7oz.
